I personally feel that my strengths were my use of characterisation and my ability to involve the audience and get the storyline of the little mermaid across to audience through the song.An example of me using characterisation was at the beginning when I was speaking in an American accent saying a line that Ariel said "I just can't see why a world that makes such Wonderfull things could be so bad".I feel throughout the performance I executed continues movement I was never stand-in still for a long period of time I was moving about and adding in movement that linked to what I was singing.


 

 In my next solo performance I need to work on improving my confidence I feel this is a really big thing for me and that if I just had that little more confidence whilst on stage and singing infant of people my singing would also improve my voice.

 

 

What feedback did you get from your classmates about your performance? 


After getting some peer feedback I was told by Molly that within my solo she could see that I used a lot of dynamics in my voice and liked especially how I used the American accent to portray my character and get the storyline across more.She also said how I was more effective as I moved across and around the stage used actions and gestures to go with the song.

 

Another person I got some peer feedback from was Chloe.Chloe said that she also thought that my characterisation was really good she believed that I had good diction in my voice and could here clearly all the words that I was saying.One thing Chloe thought that I could improve on is my confidence on the high notes she said that she feels I know how to do it but I just shy away and start to use my head voice on the parts I am less confine with.

 

Do you feel you prepared well enough for your solo performance? If you did prepare well what were the strategies that resulted in your being successful and if you didn’t prepare well what will you do more of next time? 


 I personally feel that I could have definatly prepared for my solo a lot more considering how much time we were giving in order to make sure that it was perfect when it got to the actual performance day.i fell that I worked a lot more on my character and looking into to detail on what the song was about and how the character felt during this song, this was mainly because I knew that my strongest point wasn't my singing voice so I wanted to try and get my self some marks from doing something I felt that I was stronger within.One thing I was successful in Wass the research of my character and looking into detail what happened before the song and what happened after just so I could really show my characters emotion throughout.In order to make my next pwerforemanc more successful I feel I will prepare for my solo a lot more I will do this by practising my solo over and over just a little every-night and really working on the parts that I find more example instead of leaving it until last minute and shying away and using my head voice whilst on stage.

First target -my first target was to have confidence whilst on stage and to be able to give a performance without letting my nerves take over.I feel confidence is still a big issue for me however I feel that I really worked hard on building up my confidence for the solo day as that was the first time I had ever really sung informs of anybody especially and audience so that was a really big thing for me and took me a lot to get up there and sing my solo.

 


 Second target-my next target was to improve my characterisation.This is one thing I can see I worked really hard on.I fell you could tell I had looked into my character with more detail.

Six rehearsals-week 7

  week 7  this is our last week of rehearsals before the show, during this week we were able to work in a lot more depth and go over all of the harmonies, this was great for For me as last week i struggles with the ex wives Harmonie but now i know it and i feel a lot more comfortable whilst performing.  We then done another full run through and i could feel how much i had improved for ex wives as i confidently sung the whole way through, same with the mega six i feel the run-through with Lois w as very helpful.

Six the musical show week

  Monday 14th November  Today was a tech rehearsal which we all knew was mainly for the technicians to help them out to make sure all of the cues and lighting is correct for the actual show and to give them a full practice run. This also meant it was a very stop and start day so we didn’t really do a full run through, however it was very helpful for us to as it aloud is to keep going back and going over things in order to make them more precise each time as-well as learning our spacing and when and where we needed to be in the lighting. This rehearsal made me realize that I need to project more, especially in ex-wives. I feel that I need to make sure my breath control needs to be a lot stronger as I get breathy and off pitch while dancing during this number, although I do feel I have majorly improved on this since my first rehearsals. I also feel that I have improved on my breathe control and stamina during House of Holbein as I sounded a lot better after I had been practicing...

Six rehearsals-week 6

week 6  During this lesson we started of with a full run-through of all of the numbers including both dancing and singing. These rehearsals are very important as it helps us to build up our stamina for the real show so that we are ready , this is because it hard to sing whilst dancing especially if its a very fast and upbeat dance. Personally i feel that the main struggle for me is maintaining my breath throughout ex wives this is because of the dance break as is very fast and upbeat. The same goes for the house of Holbein as everything is very fast. This is something i need to work on as I will be able to give an a lot better performance if I'm able to keep up my stamina and strongly perform the whole way through. I  also need to proceed to work on my correct harmonies for ex-wives as I don't feel like I stick to the correct Harmonie as I tend to join in with the high Harmonie instead of the ...
